Ceremonies at Beloftebos exchange vows under the age-old oak trees in Beloftebos. This romantic and dreamy venue is the ideal setting to host your ceremony as well as reception. The age-old oaks form a grove that is situated just beyond the farmhouse, on the banks of the Paardenberg River and the leaves of the huge oaks form a natural green roof, dense enough for the legal signing of the register! We provide antique church benches and covered straw bales as seats, as well as a carpet that leads to the oak stump pulpit, which rounds off the picture. This ‘green chapel’ was voted one of the Top Five Most Outrageous Chapels in South Africa by Wedding Collection Magazine in 2008. Beloftebos provides a chino-coloured (beige) freeform or bedouin tent (18x25m), complete with fairy lights all around the edges and well-positioned spot lights. The cost of the tent varies according to the number of guests but always beats the price of other rental companies! See gallery for panorama photo of tent and low lounge. Alternatively a marquee can be rented in. We only do weddings with a tent.
Natural, organic, home-made, home-grown, farm-style…
At Beloftebos we use what we’ve got and prepare it in the best way we know. Our ingredients are seasonal, natural, home-grown and local. And what we can’t grow and nuture on our farm, we source from other local food heroes in our area.
Take all of this and add chef Corneli de Villiers’ skill and well-seasoned kitchen team, Katy Franse’s roosterkoek and home-made gingerbeer as well as our new wood-fired bread oven and the result is the most hearty, yet sophisticated country cuisine.
